Bio

Christopher Smith is an unusually talented guitarist and vocalist who is currently playing solo, and duo acoustic shows in both Florida and Colorado.

Hailing originally from Pittsburgh, PA , Chris studied guitar at Coastal Carolina College, and upon graduating immediately began playing professionally in a blues/rock band 5 nights a week around the shores of the east coast.  Searching for new horizons, he moved to the historically musically magical mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, where he began teaching guitar and playing throughout the mountains in various bands he fronted, and as a solo artist.

He has played thousands of shows over the years, ranging from coffee houses, country clubs and farmer's markets, to bars of all types, restaurants, the occasional house concert and several music festivals, where he has been on the same bill as such names as Taj Mahal, the Meters, Leftover Salmon, the String Cheese Incident, and the Yonder Mountain String band.

Now, as a part time south Florida, and Colorado resident, Chris can be found playing solo shows, (sometimes with his own percussion work on a wash tub kick drum and tambourine), duos with various horn players, and also playing lead guitar for various bands. And of course, you may also find him surfing, when there's a few waves around.

Chris works from an extensive list of cover material, which includes over 250 songs, from more than 75 different artists. He also has a collection of over a dozen original songs from his upcoming CD that often feature his authentic voice and writing style, as well as his unique and powerful guitar playing, involving various open tunings and slide guitar on both 6 and 12 string guitars.
